I’m not a roofer, nor a hunter, but I occasionally have to get on my roof. Fortunately, the roofers left an anchor on my roof for connection.I have another fall protection kit…with a white braided rope, harness, etc., but I like this rope and lanyard better:- The rope is more manageable and takes up about half the space.- The rope grab is removable on this one, whereas my other one requires me to slide the bottom of the rope through the grab (and re-knot the bottom of the rope “just in case”)…so that grab/lanyard is essentially permanently affixed to the rope. With this one, I can attach the lanyard to my back D-ring, put the harness on, then affix or remove the lanyard to the rope as necessary without needing to (dis)connect the lanyard from/to my back ring… it’s just more versatile and easier.- I think 50ft is a good length for roof, tree, hunting. 50 feet of rope is manageable, and I can couple another rope if I ever need it. Though I’d use a second lanyard and probably a prusik-sling/2nd grab and lanyard to ensure constant attachment while I transfer this lanyard/grab to the other rope. Also unlike the braided rope, this rope has a braided eyelet for connection to another rope, or another anchor (like a dog line).- The rope grab, shock absorber, and the snap hook(s) seem well made. There is a CE stamp on the absorber, and the snap hooks are CSA and ANSI marked.- Harness not included (nor expected per the listing).
